316L DeltaV-Seal is our most widely used gasket for nitric acid facilities, capable of handling nitric acid over a wide range of temperatures and concentrations up to about 40% at the atmospheric boiling point, ref. to the iso-corrosion diagram.

Being a versatile austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel, it can handle most of the wet corrosion problems appearing after the ammonia converter. However, under certain conditions, such as higher temperatures, or higher chloride or acid concentrations, a higher alloyed material grade is recommended.
