Made from the same metal as the flange - and certified resistant to vibration, pressure pulses and temperature changes – the seal matches its movement, contracting and expanding in seamless unity and forming an enduring, metal-to-metal partnership.
The primary purpose of the DeltaV-Seal is to contain fluid or gas and thereby protect the immediate environment from contamination. Where semi-metallic gaskets tend to dissolve or change properties over time, the DeltaV-Seal provides a far more solid and durable seal due to its design and matching single metal properties. Important characteristics when choosing a gasket involve both compression and recovery properties of the material. Spiral wound- and kammprofile gaskets loose sealing strength from the second the system startup. The opposite is valid for DeltaV-Seal made of 100% metal. Once DeltaV-Seal is installed it keeps its spring-properties also during temperature cycling. There is never a need to re-torque.
As the first and only DNV GL approved flange gasket, the DeltaV-Seal has been tested more than any other gasket. Extensive vibration and pressure pulsation tests were carried out as part of the rigorous test program to document its resistance towards pressure pulses and vibrations over time.
During testing for DNV GL type approval, the DeltaV-Seal was exposed to as many as 10 million vibrations, while simultaneously being exposed to pressure pulsation tests with sequences of 500 000 pressure pulses.
It is proven that the DeltaV-Seal obtains a permanent static and leak-proof seal once placed between the connecting flanges. Installed according to normal procedures, the DeltaV-Seal will not need to be re-torqued after installation or during its entire lifetime.
